Obituary of Herman A. Nies

Herman A. Nies of Mendon, NY passed away November 25, 2009 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY with his family and friends by his side. Herm was 83. He was born the son of Rev. AJ and Bertha Deitz Nies on March 31, 1926 in Louisville, KY. Herm was predeceased by his mother, Berth Deitz and his father, Rev. AJ Nies and his brother David. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Beverly; son, William (Diane) Nies; daughter, Rebecca (Jim) Krause; five loving grandchildren, Frances and Alexander Nies; Bert and Zach Krause and Molly (Shaun) Anderson. Also, many nieces and nephews. Herm gave 34 years of service and devotion to customers, along side his wife and son in their family owned business, Springwater Sprouts of Honeoye Falls. Friends may call Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 3-4:30 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, where a Celebration of His Life will be held following calling. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Rochester, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620 or to a local Hospice in your area.
