Obituary of William H. Wood

William H. Wood, age 83, of Avon, NY, formerly of Rush, NY died Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing Care. Born April 3, 1938, he was the son of the late William A. Wood and Marion Rogers Wood. Bill grew up in Olean, NY and graduated from Olean High in 1956. He served in the United States Air Force and married O'Della Mae Lyautey on Apil 11, 1959. In 1961, he moved to Rochester, NY. Bill retired from Kayex after 32 years as the West Coast Sales Manager. He co-owned and operated Pur-Sil Inc. in Bradford, PA from 1990 - 2000. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years O'Della; daughters Cathleen (Neal) Vinca of Bradford, PA, Carolyn (Vincent) Pulcini of Bergen, NY, Barbara (Robert) Stryker of Canandaigua, NY; brother John (Sharon) Wood of Gasport, NY and 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Robert, and infant daughter. Friends may call Friday, March 19, 5-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe St. Honeoye Falls, NY. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 11 am, at the United Methodist Church in Rush, NY with full military honors at Rush Pine Hill Cemetery immediately following.
