Obituary of Carolyn A. Burt
CAROLYN ANN BURT
Honeoye Falls: Carolyn, 91, went to her great reward in Heaven on Saturday, 10 October 2020, after a long illness.
Predeceased by her parents, Hilding J. and Aneta F. Winterquist of Port Allegany, PA; her loving husband of 47 years, David James Burt. She is survived by sisters JoAnn Moore and Judy Weekley (Clinton), both of Emporium, PA; children Fae M. Burt, Susan K. Mantegna (Dennis) (Rick Hessney), David John Burt (Suzanne), and Larry Kelly; grandchildren Aaron Mantegna (Jessica DeFazio), Melissa L. Mantegna (Lucious Chance), Tiffani F. Mantegna, Anthony Torres, Heather N. Mantegna (George McIntyre), Nicholas W. Kastner (Amy); great grandchildren Gianna and Maddox Mantegna, Mason and Nicky DeFazio, Jada Mantegna, Anthony "Doeda" and Micah Torres, Brayden and Ahna McIntyre, and Cameron, Cailee, and Christian Kastner. Carolyn is also survived by many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Carolyn was born in Port Allegany, PA, married in 1951 and moved to Germany where David served in the US Army and Fae was born. They returned to the US in 1954, stationed at Fort Monmouth, NJ, where Susan was born. The family moved to Honeoye Falls in 1956 and David was born in Rochester in 1957. Yea! A boy! They joined the United Methodist Church of Honeoye Falls in 1956, where Carolyn taught Sunday School for several years and was active on many committees. She loved her Church and Church family, where she extended herself and became everyone's "surrogate" Mom and Gramma. She loved everyone as her own, and instilled purpose, hope, and strength into everyone around her. Carolyn became a Guardian Angel to those that needed direction and hope the most, and through her words of wisdom, she was able to make a difference in many young people's lives. She always encouraged all to do their very best, not settle for less, and always follow the plan and purpose that God had set for them. She created traditions for her family that are still carried out today by her children and grandchildren.
Now that Carolyn has been laid to rest, she has been reunited with her groom.
