Obituary of Goldie S. Redman

Goldie Robina Mae Redman (Slocum née Congdon) age 87 of West Bloomfield, NY died Sunday, August 23, 2020 at St. John's Home after an extended illness. She was born May 1, 1933 to Woodrow and Elsie (Slocum née Nickerson) Congdon. She married Donald L. Redman on June 30, 1956. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who overcame adversity, and persevered to serve in many roles over the years: Prayer Warrior, Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, Physician's Office Administrator, Nanny, counselor and friend to veterans, and a volunteer. A friend to those in need, and a champion for those who were suffering. A proud graduate of Genesee Community College and a longtime member of the Lima Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Donald and Ruth (Coubles), William and Tracy (Templeton) and Kevin and Kolleen (Miles); grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel (Ryan) Stacy, Eli, Josiah, Juliana; Andrew (Lydia), Alissa, Amanda; Johnathon, Audrey, Lily and Aaliyah; great grandson, Oliver; sister Patricia A. Cox. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brothers Woodrow and Roland Slocum. Friends may call Friday, August 28, 2020 from 4-8 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, NY. A Celebration and Remembrance will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Lima Baptist Church, 1574 Rochester Street, Lima, NY at 11:30 am. Private interment in Union Cemetery, Livonia.
