Obituary of Jean D. Doyle

The matriarch of our family Jean D. Doyle, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on December 31, 2019 at the age of 87. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, James S. Doyle. She is survived by her children Peter (Nancy), Mary (Pete) Szlosek, and Anne (Chris) Miller, her grandchildren PJ (Nina) Doyle, Caitlin and Edward Szlosek, Claire, Charlie and Max Miller, and great-grandchildren, Harper and Jack Doyle. She is also survived by nieces and a nephew. Jean was born on January 6, 1932 in Cato, NY to Edward and Leona Delaney. Jean taught in the Honeoye Falls-Lima School District. She devoted countless hours volunteering for various organizations including serving 3 terms on the HFL School Board, Girl Scouts, St. John's Home and the Notre Dame Women's Club in addition to being a faithful friend and caregiver to many. We extend our deep gratitude to her compassionate caregivers at Journey Home and her medical team at Wilmot Cancer Center Dr. Deborah Mulford, Dr. Michael Milano and Marcia Buckley, NP. Friends may call on Sunday January 5 from 2-4 PM at Merton Kays Funeral Home Inc., 59 Monroe St., Honeoye Falls. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, January 6 from 9:30 - 10:20am, followed by her funeral mass at 10:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 150 Varinna Dr. Rochester.
