Obituary of Kristine P. Brassie
Kristine Pierce Brassie
Kristine Pierce Brassie age 43 of Mendon made her journey back to God on Wednesday April 3, 2019 surrounded by her family. Kristine was born on February 4, 1976 in Rochester NY.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years David S. Brassie; her children Chloe, David, Christopher and Matthew, and the family pets Joy and Tanner; her parents Lawrence A. and Mary Ann (Camillaci) Pierce, brothers Lawrence (Christina) Pierce, Daniel (fiancé Carrie) Pierce, nieces and nephews Julia, Larry, Mary, Joe and Christopher, aunts, uncles, cousins, and all of her earth angel friends.
Kristine, a lifelong resident of Mendon attended Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School and was later inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. After graduation she attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and had a distinguished hockey career where she was team captain for three years, two-time NCAA All-American, and Rochester Press Radio Club Female Amateur Athlete of the year in 1999. She was elected to the RIT Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. In 1999, she became the first woman and first Division III hockey player to win the National Humanitarian Award recognizing college hockey's finest citizen. That same year she became the first athlete in the history of RIT athletics to have her jersey retired, #12.
Kristine had a zest for life and strived to live it with power, purpose and joy. In 2017, she started her business Next Steps Within with the goal of helping others choose to live life to the fullest. Kristine was a certified Life Coach, Recovery Coach, Holistic Cancer Coach and most recently graduated as a Health Coach from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. She also served in many volunteer roles throughout her community, including Benincasa Hospice Home, local chapter leader for The Healing Strong Organization and Co-leader of the local Weston A. Price Foundation. She is a member of Crosswinds Wesleyan Church in Canandaigua.
Her greatest accomplishment and joy in life were her four children; Chloe, David, Christopher and Matthew. She so enjoyed every opportunity to coach and inspire them to be their very best at everything they do.
Friends may call Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 3-8pm at St. Catherine's of Siena Church in Mendon. Services will be held Monday, April 8 at 11am at St. Catherine's, reception to follow.
Donations can be made in honor of Kristine to either the HFL Scholarship Fund for a scholarship in her honor, or the Rochester NY Chapter of the Weston A Price Foundation, a non-profit organization dear to Kristine's heart for which she was the co-chapter leader.
