Obituary of Edward H. Smith

Lakeville, NY Eddie left us on Sunday, March 24, at age 83 to join his brothers; Gerard (Jerry), William (Butch), sisters; Ruth Lee, Barbara Smith, Gail Searchfield, mother; Josephine Smith-Reed and father; William Smith. Survived by his wife of 39 years, Frieda, children; William (Bud), daughter-in- law Darcy Smith, E. Joan (Dennis) Lang, Jacqueline (Brian) Quackenbush, Jeanette (Brian) Thompson. Ten grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Sisters; Monica Mastrosimone, Beverly (Robert) Gross, brothers; Ronald Reed and Roland Reed. Many nieces and nephews. Eddie was quiet man of few words, with a great love of family, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, the annual family vacation trek to the 1000 Islands, enjoying fishing with his brothers and the atmosphere of the Islands. He worked as a mechanic at Ev Lewis Ford for 42 years, after retiring he took care of lawns for several neighbors. A special thank you to the Palliative Care Team at Strong Hospital and the 7-1200 Unit at Strong for the special care given Eddie in his last days. Donations can be made to the Livonia Ambulance or Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester. Service will be held Saturday, April 6th at 1 PM followed by calling hours from 1:30 to 3 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, NY to be followed by burial at Mt. Vernon Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater.
