Obituary of Margot L. DeVincentis
Margot L. DeVincentis died peacefully, surrounded by her family on March 16, 2019. Born in Zwingenberg, Germany on November 23, 1925, to Georg and Elisabeth (Schuch) Pfendt. She was raised in Frankfurt, Germany during World War II and immigrated with her husband Joseph Kern to the United States in 1948.
She settled in Honeoye Falls where she raised her son Patrick Kern and helped bring up her sister Ellen Buschang's children after her death. Her career in the restaurant industry started at the German Club in Rochester and culminated with opening her own business, The Family Restaurant in Honeoye Falls. Animals and children gave her the greatest joy. She was known as Oma to everyone around her whether she was their grandmother or not, she made you feel part of her family.
She was predeceased by her second husband Gus DeVincentis and sister Ellen Buschang, and is survived by her brother Henry Pfendt, son Patrick Kern, grandson Benjamin Kern (Sarah) and her beloved nieces and nephews of the Buschang and Pfendt families.
