Obituary of Erma L. Whitbeck

Erma L. Whitbeck of Fairport and formerly of Pittsford, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the age of 90. She was born the daughter of Elmer and Wilhelmina King Whitbeck on April 9, 1923 in Pittsford, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Whitbeck and sister, Ruth Schmidt. She is survived by her sister, Alice McRae, niece and loving caregiver Barbara (Sidney) Malcolm, sister in law Edna Whitbeck, brother-in-law Bernard Schmidt and will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and the loving staff at Crest Manor Nursing Home. Erma worked for Eastman Kodak Co. for 39 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed summers in Cape Vincent, NY, china painting, traveling and spending time with her family. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday 1 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, the Rev. Corey Keyes officiating. Burial will be private in Mendon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of one's choice.
