Amber, Cody, and Lacey,
In 2008 I lost my mom and an old friend sent this to me. He wrote it himself and I found some comfort when I read it.
Mothers have such a special place in our lives. We are closer to them, than
anyone else. Who else wants the best for us - no matter what? Mothers pass
on wisdom, and joy, and love. No one cooks like one's mother. They make
home - home. From scratched knees, to hurt feelings, they have a special
balm to dispense. What is a better model of God's love, than a good mother?
She brought so much joy to everyone. I always looked forward to seeing her when I came up to visit. Words are inadequate. You have a long, hard journey in front of you, especially over the next year. Stay close to all who loved her and you and they will give support when you need it.
I'll be thinking of you and the entire family and keep you in my prayers.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. No matter how old we are, it still hurts to lose our mom. I have personally found comfort in the words at Acts 24:15 where it tells us, "There is going to be a resurrection", and that soon God will "wipe out every tear" from our eyes. (Rev. 21:4) And I look forward to the fulfillment of Psalm 92:14, "Even in old age they will still be thriving; They will remain vigorous and fresh"
You have my deepest sympathy while we patiently wait.
