Obituary of Carol B. Van Dusen

Carol B. Van Dusen of Honeoye Lake, passed away June12, 2018 at age 75. Born in Corning, NY October 28, 1942 to the late Virgil and Glenora Harris Baird. Predeceased by her sister, Beverly Tompkins. Carol married William Van Dusen on July 18, 1964. She was a lifetime medical professional. Carol received her LPN degree in 1961 from the Geneva School of Practical Nursing, her Associates in Nursing from Corning Community College in 1976, her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from SUNY Utica in 1981 and her Masters of Science Degree in Pediatric Nursing from the University of Rochester in 1990. She did all of this while raising a family and working full time. Carol retired after working 26 years at Fairport Pediatrics where she is still known as "Nurse Carol" by patients, parents and associates. Carol is survived by her husband William; her sons, Pieter (Lyndon) Van Dusen and Christopher (Tabitha) Van Dusen; grandchildren, Zackary Phillips and Allison and Nicholas Van Dusen; sister, Janice (Roman) Kucil; nephews, Timothy (Angela) Tompkins, John (Toni) Tompkins, Roman Kucil, Andrew Kucil; niece, Patricia Herrington; grand nieces and nephews, Morgan and Devon Herrington and Alexandra and Owen Tompkins. Friends may call June 15, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Private burial at Elmwood Cemetery. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 2 pm at the Honeoye United Church of Christ.
