In July 1973, Bud & Marion opened their home to me (a High School Exchange Student from Australia) for several days. Thus began a 40 year friendship!
Not only did they travel to Australia, but I visited Cape Vincent many times, in more recent decades with my wife and daughters.
We all loved Bud. Quite simply, he was the most kind & gentle man I have ever known.
I only wish we had known of his illness and passing back in August, as I'm sad to have missed his funeral service.
Farewell Bud.

As a child in the mid 60's when my mom, dad and siblings moved from Ireland to my mom's Aunt Ella's house on Cheese Factory Road I had the profound pleasure of meeting Buddy. He was always a most pleasant man with a lovely sense of humour, bright dancing eyes and a fantastic smile. A very 'gentle' man and my pleasure to have met him. May he rest in peace. Mary King (O'Sullivan - Tarbert, Co. Kerry, Ireland)

Many fond memories "Buddy". Too many to list. You were a wonderful friend and neighbor all through the years. Jack and Jeb adored you and learned much from you on the farm. Jan loved to ride the hay wagons and play with all the kittens in the hay barn. Our hearts are very sad for the loss of one of Mendon's Finest. Love "The Dainard's"
