I will always remember Dan as a kind and unselfish friend. In our senior year at ACS he comforted me after my dog died and I'll never forget that. He made me feel normal again that day. He was always a gentle and giving classmate. He was the kind of guy who would do nice things for people just because he could. He will be sorely missed. Love you Danny.

Dear Members of Danny's Family,
Ky and I remember all of you from when you lived on Selborne Chase in Fairport. My personal memories of your parents are, to say the least, are very fond.
I was fortunate also, to be their real estate agent many times during the Kodak days.
Whenever I had the opportunity, I referred Danny to everyone.
What a great guy!
He built a wonderful play set for the pool and playground area. At the time that we wanted to have a gazebo built, Danny had such a successful business that he could not do the actual building, but continued to respond to any ?'s that we had.
With fond memories of the Bears Family,
Fran and Ky McCarthy

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I work for the Town of West Bloomfield and remember when Danny spoke to the Planning Board about operating his (playground) business from property he was thinking about purchasing in our town. I will say a prayer for you and your children.

Marcie and the kids, your sisters, your Mom and your Dad and all of your friends and relatives remail very proud of you - not because of your great accomplishments - but because of who you were and what you stood for.

Dearest Bears Family,
It is with the heavest of hearts that we hear of Danny's passing. Knowing the solid family foundation that Danny was reared upon from our summers spent on Ambajejus Lake in Maine, it does not surprise us that Danny came to exemplify a life of live, laugh and love.

Dan was more than an employer. He was a true friend and an extension of our family. He was an inspiration and touched the lives of many in his time with us. The world is a very different place without him in it and he will be greatly missed. However, his spirit lives on in his children, in our hearts, and in the legacy of the thousands of playgrounds all over the US and the world bringing joy to children everywhere, which was always Dan's passion.

I was so sad to learn of Danny's passing. My highlight each summer was working with him to get mulch and sand for the playgrounds at Harley. He was always the one who answered the phone, always the one who came with his crew to make sure the job was done to the highest level of quality, and always an honest and cheerful person. He showed excellence in his professional and personal exchanges. He was a huge help in our most recent project and a key source of straight-forward information--even if it was inconvenient. He was honest to the core and I will miss him dearly.
