Obituary of Mary Ann Gollin
Mary Ann Gollin of Pittsford, died on Mothers Day, May 8, 2016 at age 88 at Middlesex Hospital Hospice in Middletown, CT. She was born the daughter of Carl F. and Clara B. Scheick Nowack on April 5, 1928 in Rochester, NY. Mary Ann grew up in Irondequoit. She was a retiree of the Monroe County Department of Social Services where she worked as a social worker. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Rochester, and then St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mendon. A true "people" person with many dear friends, she was active in the Valparaiso University Guild, sang in multiple choirs including the Rochester Oratorio Society, worked for Congregations in Ministry with the Elderly, and volunteered at Benincasa Hospice in Mendon. She loved Conesus Lake.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Norman; sister, Florence (Kenneth) Ross; brother-in-law, Paul Gollin. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Patricia (Mark) Clow of CT; granddaughters, Ashley and Sydney Clow; sister-in-law, Gloria Gollin of MI. Also survived by several nieces and nephews: David (Justine) Ross of MA; Carol Gwara of Rochester; Daniel (Alice) Ross of ME; Larry (Pat) Schnettler of MI; Kay Timm of WI; James (Kathy) Gollin of MI; Robert (Mary) Gollin of MI; Kenneth (Holly) Gollin of MI.
Friends may call Friday, May 13, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 14 at 11 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 18 Victor-Mendon Road, Mendon. Private burial, White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford. Memorials in Mary Ann's name may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 239, Mendon, NY 14506.
