Obituary of Jay L. Lonthair

Jay L. Lonthair of Honeoye Falls, formerly of Rush, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Highlands at Pittsford Living Center. Jay was 90. He was born the son of George and Ruth Lonthair on October 14, 1919 in Rush, NY. He was a WW II Army Air Corp. Veteran and was a life member of the Stevens-Connor American Legion Post 1330 in Rush where he was Past Commander. Jay was also a life member of the Rush Fire Department. He was a retiree of the former Singer-Graflex in Pittsford. He was predeceased by his wife Carol; grandchildren Brian Murphy and Jon Prachel. Survived by his children, Gerald (Susan) Lonthair, Jack (Gale) Ramsey, Joanne (Jerry) Prachel and Nancy (Robert) Murphy; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brothers, Anda and Harry Lonthair; sister Janet Cardona; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 4-8 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 22 at 2 pm at the Pinnacle Lutheran Church, 250 Pinnacle Road. Burial, Pine Hill Cemetery, Rush. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pinnacle Lutheran Church.
