Obituary of George Pettis

George Pettis of Rochester, died Wednesday, April 7 2010 at the Avon Nursing Home. He was 89. George was born the son of William and Florence Conger Pettis on December 1, 1920 in Rochester, NY. He was a retired Lieutenant on the Rochester Fire Department with 34 years of active duty, he was also a Veteran of WW II, a Sergeant in the Army. He is survived by his wife, Doris Pettis; his daughters Julie (Terry) Graham and Barbara (Steven) Manning; nephews, Roger, Jimmy, Billy and Johnny Pettis; a niece Kirstin Hladis, as well as many dear friends. No prior calling. Friends may attend a Memorial Service, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11 am in St. Joseph Church, 6105 Rush-Lima Road, Rush. Burial, Pine Hill Cemetery, Rush.
