Obituary of Margaret Mary Kress

Margaret Mary Kress died peacefully February 1, 2010 at Benincasa in Mendon NY. She was 71 years old. Margie was the daughter of Elizabeth and Bernard Kohlbrenner and was born on June 27th, 1938. Margie was a graduate of St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana where she met her husband of fifty years, Peter Edwin Kress who recently passed away on October 16th, 2009. She is survived by her five children, Maria (Art) Davis of San Diego CA, Peter M. Kress of Moravia, NY, Rosemary (Chris Mullen) Kress of Easthampton, MA, Elizabeth (Michael) Sabbagh of Charlotte, NC., and William (Louise) Kress of Prosperous Co., Kildare Ireland, four grandchildren, :Lauren and Nicholas; Zach and Jake Kress, her sister Anne (Tom) Day and brother Phil (Nancy) Kohlbrenner, and many nieces and nephews. Margie loved music. She played the bass violin in her youth and was a member of several choirs. Margie and Peter were active in both the communities of Rochester and Star Lake, NY, where Margie cultivated beautiful gardens. Margie loved nature and all of its creatures. She was an avid writer and reader. She was admired greatly by her family and friends for the way she lived her life; with gentleness, grace, forgiveness and compassion. She will be remembered for her supreme strength in the face of adversity, as well as her gift for listening and for loving. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mendon for both Margie and Peter on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:30 am.
