I knew Brooke and Tristan from the ED at Highland Hospital and the University of Rochester. Brooke and I worked together for 2 years. She was a PCT going through nursing school for her RN while and I was an RN working towards my BSN. Brooke is probably the most awesome person I have ever had the pleasure to meet! Her infectious smile was an awesome ray of sunshine on a gloomy Rochester day. Her positive attitude and light-hearted outlook on life taught us all to be better - harder working students, more patient nurses, more loving daughters, and more reliable friends.
I remember my family flew in from Florida in May 2007 for my graduataion party, and Brooke drove out to Penfield just to meet the people I talked so much about. Brooke and I often sat and talked about our families - she really loved her family! We also talked about our inspirations in life. She talked so highly of how her mother inspired her to return from the business world in Boston to go into Nursing. How blessed the field of Nursing is by having Brooke's hands care for so many sick and tired patients!
Brooke and Tristan were a match made in heaven. They truly complimented each other and balanced each other's personalities. I know they are happily in each other's arms now in Heaven, but we sure are going to miss them both here on Earth. God bless the Paquin and Hanna families. Much love and many prayers, Jodi

I knew Brooke mostly through her Mom. As we compared notes about our children, Patti's love and admiration of Brooke shone through every conversation. While this tragedy cut a wonderful young person's life short, we can be grateful for having such a vibrant spirit as Brooke's touch our lives even briefly.

For the short time she was with us here she did more in life than some do in a lifetime. She will always be remembered as a precious friend of Kelli's, one who made sure she always said hello to us; a person that could make you proud.
My heart is broken for those she leaves behind as I still try to understand why? Our very deepest sympathy.

Words alone can't say enough about the extraordinary person Brooke was. I enjoyed working with Brooke for approximately 3 years while she was a PCT and going through nursing school. She was like a little sister to me. I was always trying to find the perfect match for her and she would tell me she was too busy with school to get serious about guys. Then along came Tristan Hanna. I thought he was such a nice guy and would be perfect for Brooke. It took several months for me to convince Tristan that I thought Brooke was interested in him and he should ask her out. He was so shy for the longest time; as was Brooke - she would blush whenever I mentioned his name. Finally at a 4th of July party Tristan finally got the nerve to ask her out. I was absolutely delighted as they were two of my most favorite people to work with.... and truely in every sense of the word 'soulmates'. May they both rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord. I can not imagine how tough this must be for all of their family members. God bless you all.

My heartfelt condeolences on your loss. I was a long time customer of Daves. As a stained glass artist, he did my installations as well as lots of mirror work in my home. After a long hiatus on work... I had tried to reach him and after many unsuccessful attempts, learned that he had passed on.
I was truly crushed as he was such a loving and kind man. I felt awful that I could not pay my respects to you directly. He spoke often of his love for his family and we shared many laughs as we both went thru the "terrible teens" etc with our children.
I'll never forget that once, one of your kids slammed the door to their bedroom in such defiance, that he took the door off of the hinges for a few weeks to regain the upper hand, as a parent. It still brings a smile to my face.
To lose your daughter, now, after all of her successful achievments, is a devastating loss for you all.
My heartfelt condolences to you all on this horrific and devastating loss. I pray that she is in heaven surrounded by those who love her. May she rest in peace...and may you be sustained by the happy memories you were able to share here on earth.
The present is the greatest gift. Again, I am sorry for your loss. Terri Bobry

It is hard to find any words that are adequate. I worked with Brooke in the Highland ED and also on West 5. She had a broad smile and an easy laugh; she was smart and funny and full of life and incredibly hard working. We in the ED watched with amusement as she and Tristan sidestepped around each other for the longest time. It is difficult to accept and impossible to make sense of such tragedy. My thoughts and condolences to the Highland ED and to Brooke's family and friends.

Brooke was one of my dearest friends in nursing school. We laughed together, we cried together, we got angry together, and we provided each other moral support to get us through the program. I don't think I could be where I am today without her support through the program. She is truly an inspirational person that will remain in my heart forever. I remember Brooke as such a happy person, always smiling and gracious to all. I never met someone so upbeat and easy to get to know. I met Brooke through her sister Jenna, and I spent many days of my early teen years at the Paquin household. My favorite memory is that of her and Dutch. Dutch was the strangest dog- not very bright and always getting into trouble. Brooke loved him unconditionally, which usually sparked teasing from Jenna and I. Now I see that it was just who she was, and she poured that devotion and empathy into everything in her life. It is so hard to understand why things like this happen, but I know Brooke would find a way to put a positive spin on it.
