Not knowing Richard, but knowing Chuck and how much family means to him, I can only imagine the true loss the family must feel.
My family's thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through your year of "firsts."
How nice it will be to know that for as long a life as Richard lived, there are, I'm sure, many fond memories to reminisce about, while looking at a beautiful sunset.

I saw the obituary in yesterday's paper. He sounds like a wonderful man, and I'm sorry for his passing. Just a note here to say that he and I are probably "42nd cousins", since my Mother's name was Barrows too. Blessings and condolences.

Dear Cathy and Chuck,Holly & Tom, With Dick's passing there is a bright new star in the sky. I went outside and greeted him and sent him well wishes for heavenly peace. Im relieved for him that he will suffer no more. He has left a wonderful legacy in his family, people who make the world a better place just by being who they are. Cathy, you have been an extraordinary daughter(and Chuck, a son) and gave Dick the greatest gift in Tommy and Holly. They are the most remarkable peopla and though they may have never known this , I have always admired what loving, caring people they are.I'm sure they were the joys of Dick's life and he will live on through them and you. With loving thoughts, Irene (Turner)

I'm so sorry to hear about "Uncle" Dick. (Who is really a Cousin...) My sister and I were about 10 yr. old before we finally figured out the family lineage that if he was Dad's cousin he was really our 2nd cousin---but what the heck ! Uncle worked fine for us because he seemed like a Happy Ole Uncle...always smiling and certainly welcoming. Like the time my sister Linda and I popped in out of the blue and wanted to see the old 'reel' movie that had us in it from 1954. He just got out the boxes and set up the projector and we laughed and laughed at how old fashioned we were dressed! He was our Family Historian who has left us with fond memories.
Sharon Rhode(her sister Linda and Cubby too I suppose...)
