Obituary of Denise Marie Graver
Denise Vajentic Graver of Honeoye Falls, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2009 after an 8 year courageous battle with breast cancer at the age of 45. She was born the daughter of Thomas and Catherine Allen Vajentic on October 12, 1963 in Syracuse, NY. She is survived by her husband, Mike; beloved dog Splash; special kitties Sami and Alex; parents, Tom and Cathy Vajentic; brother Tom (Anita) Vajentic; sister Stephanie (Mike) Partridge; special niece and kindred spirit Alexandria Partridge; nieces, Chelsie, Ashley and Jilian; nephew, Ryan; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by special friend, Jeanette Atkinson and family Ben and Daniel; also her friends at Rush-Henrietta Central School, Dansville Central School and The Brewery Softball Team.
Denise was a graduate of Owego Free Academy, Buffalo State and received her Masters at Nazareth College. She was a special education, elementary and science teacher. She taught at Hillside Children's Center, Dansville Central Schools, and Rush-Henrietta High School. Denise had a strong love of nature and animals, highlighted by her dream trip to the Galapagos Islands. Denise was a friend to all she met, with her selfless nature and warm, positive, friendly outlook.
There will be a celebration of Denise's life at The Brewery, 8 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY on Thursday, July 9th from 1-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Denise's Hope Scholarship Fund in c/o Jeanette Atkinson, 747 Cheese Factory Road, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.
