Obituary of Elizabeth B. Sigas
Elizabeth B. Sigas of Honeoye Falls and formerly of Lima, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester. She was 96. Elizabeth was born the daughter of Benjamin and Mami Turner Foster Beale on November 25, 1915 in Lima, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred and son Luis. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Mary Clark, Silvia (John) Williams, Kenneth (Suzanne) Sigas, Elizabeth (John) Outtrim, Ellen (Tim) Lewis and Martha Ann Turner; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Elizabeth loved the role of being a mother, and was a strong advocate of women's rights and the environmental conservation. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class, was part of the Deacon's Circle at the Honeoye Falls First Presbyterian Church, and was very active in the Girl Scouts of America for over 30 years. She started her working career at Rochester Gas and Electric and ended it by driving school bus for 19 years at the Honeoye Falls Lima Central School District. Elizabeth and her family were very grateful for the love and care that was provided to her by the staff at the Episcopal Church Home.
Friends may call Friday October 19, 2012, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Her Funeral will be held Saturday 3pm at the West Bloomfield Congregational Church, 9035 Routes 5 & 20. Burial will be held in West Bloomfield Cemetery.
