Loretto McGinnis Peterson of Victor, NY. Born in Chicago, IL December 10, 1919 and passed peacefully July 31, 2014. Preceded in death by her husband, George Peterson (1999) and survived by her son John McGinnis (Kathleen) and her grandchildren Megan and Ryan McGinnis.
Loretto lived a full life as a devoted wife and mother with two distinct careers: one in show business as a ballerina/dancer for the San Carlo Opera Company and as one of the first women on television (WBKB Chicago, later ABC TV) as a technician and on-air performer. Later in life she returned to the workforce as a secretary for Interstate Fire and Casualty Insurance and retired after 25 years as manager of the Chicago office. In 1998, due to the declining health of her husband, she moved to Mendon, NY to be near her son and his family. She spent her last years at the Legacy Senior Living Facility in Victor, NY. Services will be held privately. The family would like to extend a most heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospeace House (Sheila, Wendy, Mary, and Audrey) in Naples, NY for the excellent care and compassion provided to Loretto during her final days.
