Obituary of Dorothy D. Luchsinger
Dorothy D. Luchsinger, a long time resident of the Rochester area (25 years), died October 2, 2012 at age 100. She was born in Syracuse, N.Y. the daughter of Frank & Bertha Dailey. Dorothy graduated from high school and worked for many years in secretarial services. She married Peter J. Luchsinger of Onondaga Hill in 1947. He was a building contractor for many years in the Syracuse area. They moved to Tupper Lake, N.Y. in 1965 where Peter was the Camp Ranger for the Sabbatis Boy Scout Camp, retiring in 1978. Dorothy moved to the Rochester area in 1985 to be closer to family and friends. She enjoyed traveling both in the U.S. and to Europe and Africa.
Mrs. Luchsinger was predeceased by her husband, Peter Luchsinger in 1981, her stepson, Harry Luchsinger in 1973 and sister, Marjorie Kingston in 2008 at age 104. She is survived by her stepchildren, Sally Wheeler, Paul Luchsinger and Carl Luchsinger. 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grand-children; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11am at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, N.Y. Dorothy & Peter Luchsinger's ashes will returned to nature in the Tupper Lake area.
