Obituary of Melva C. Minotti
Melva Clark Minotti of Rush, New York, died peacefully with her family by her side on January 18th, 2024, at the age of 93.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Bernice Clark of Morrisville , NY, her siblings, Gordon (Doris) Clark, William (Shirley) Clark, Donald (Betty) Clark, Mildred (Harry) Smith, Darwin (Shirley) Clark, Esther (Richard) Davis and her loving son Peter C. Minotti.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Leo P. Minotti, her children, Joseph (Marie) Minotti, Mary (Richard) Gerbino, her much loved grandchildren, Katharine (Jeff) Wilkin, Christine (Gary) Giannetto, Nicholas Gerbino, Melanie Minotti, Jared Gerbino, her daughter-in-law Karen (Peter) Minotti and sister-in-law Audrey (Donald) Clark. Melva is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Melva was a graduate of Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, School of Nursing in Syracuse, New York. Melva was proud to follow in her mother’s footsteps and had a long career in nursing, retiring at the age of 77 as an infection control nurse. Growing up in Morrisville, NY, she was a proud farmer’s daughter.
Melva’s greatest joy was her family, she loved when her children and grandchildren were at her home, she enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, telling stories at the dinner table, laughing and hugging us all. Over the years Melva maintained and fostered many loving and lasting relationships with friends in her Rush community. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Rush, New York.
A celebration of Melva’s life will be held on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Marianne Cope Parish in Guardian Angels Church, Henrietta at 2061 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York. There will be no calling hours at the request of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a local animal shelter.
